Jordan Henderson backs Fabinho and Naby Keita

The Reds captain Jordan Henderson clearly expressed that he believes the new summer signings Fabinho and Naby Keita will display their best performances in near future. Liverpool have paid $104 million combined to get the midfield duo Fabinho and Keita this summer. And without any doubt, they have already made a significant impact on Jurgen Klopp’s squad.

At the beginning of the 2018-19 Premier League season, they had to wait at the bench to get their chance. But, they got their much-needed break over the past few days and displayed what they are exactly capable of. Fabinho displayed an impressive performance in the Merseyside Derby against Everton last Sunday and Keita earned great reviews from football pundits for his performance against Burnley this Wednesday.

While talking about Fabinho, the Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson said “I don’t know whether he understands me! But he’s got lads around him, the Brazilian lads and the French lads.” He then said “We’re all one group and you can see that on the pitch. I think everyone makes it easy for people to come in and settle. But it’s going to take time when you come in from a different league. He’s doing well.”

He also gave his views on Naby Keita and said “I thought he started really well and then got an injury which set him back a little bit. I thought [at Burnley] he was outstanding.” He then further added, “You can see how good he is on the ball, how comfortable he is driving with the ball forward, which is important for us.”

Fabinho and Naby Keita

Jordan Henderson clearly expressed that he is quite happy with the performances that the new signings displayed when they had their chance on the ground. He also expressed his admiration towards Keita while saying “I think he’ll go from strength to strength as he gets more games and experience. But I think you can already see he’s a fantastic player.”

Liverpool captain also gave a little insight on Wednesday’s match and said “We spoke about one or two things at half-time and I thought that helped us. We made a lot of changes, the lads that have come in have done a great job and it shows how good the squad is.” He then talked about the future plans of Liverpool and said “We’re going to need everyone over the next few months because the games come thick and fast. We need everyone to play their part.”
