Pakistan Former PM Nawaz Sharif’s Wife Begum Kulsoom Nawaz dies in London Hospital

Pakistan’s jailed former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s wife Begum Kulsoom Nawaz died on Tuesday in London Hospital. Pakistan’s former first lady breathed last today after battling months with cancer. The three-time former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is currently serving in jail along with his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Muhammad Safdar. According to the reliable sources, Nawaz Sharif along with other of his family members serving in jail would be granted parole for the funeral.

Nawaz Sharif’s brother Shahbaz Sharif and his son Hussain Nawaz have confirmed the death of former first lady. Harley Street Clinic has also confirmed the death of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, the clinic further told that the body will soon be shifted to the mortuary.

Begum Kulsoom Nawaz was on health support on early Tuesday before lung problem severely developed again leading to the death of three-time former Pakistan’s first lady.

The 68 years old, Kulsoom Nawaz battled with cancer for around a year after she was diagnosed with early-stage lymphoma back in July 2017. People from all fields of life have extended prayers for the deceased lady. In Pakistan, massive numbers of PML-N followers mourn the death of the former first lady.

It should be noted here that Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam delayed their return to Pakistan after they were convicted in Avenfield Case as Begum Kalsoom Nawaz on life support this year in July. As soon as she recovered following the heart attack, she was taken off from the ventilator on 12 July, one day before her husband and daughter moved back to Pakistan.

Pakistan’s current Prime Minister Imran Khan also extended condolence over the death of former first lady via his official Twitter account.
