August 20, 2018 by Rana Hamza

UEFA Men’s player of the Year Award isn’t that far away from you; it’s all set to be announced in Monaco on 30th August. What all eye-balls have been waiting for is actually out, yes, of course, we are talking about the much-hyped nominations for this years UEFA Men’s Player of the Year Award. Three shortlisted maestros for this year’s run are Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric, and Mohamed Salah. And the thing which can’t be taken away from the headlines is Lionel Messi misses out from the worthy nominations.

Now the Juventus star, Cristiano Ronaldo is a frequent winner of UEFA Men’s Player of the Year Award and if he takes this honor home again, it will mark his hat-trick of doing so. On the other hand, it is his former teammate at Real Madrid, Luka Modric is in the contest with him for the title. Modric, who has been winning hearts at Bernabeu with his top-notch performances also stands tall as the runner-up at FIFA World Cup and the best player of the megaevent as well. Not to forget, both Ronaldo and Modric played an essential role in making Real Madrid lift this years’ UEFA Champions League trophy.

The third shortlisted footballer for this year’s award is Egyptian star Mohamed Salah. The meteoric rise of Salah with his first term at Liverpool made even his critics turn his appraisers.
