Santiago Solari hails Vinicius after Real Madrid’s win against Girona

Real Madrid coach Santiago Solari hails the rapid development of Brazilian star Vinicius this season.  And that comment came right after Real Madrid came from behind and snatched the 4-2 win against Girona in the first-leg of the Copa del Rey quarter-final. The Brazilian was directly involved in three goals last night in their glamorous victory at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Solari tried the new combination of Vinicius and Karim Benzema in the forward-line against Girona last night which undoubtedly proved to be quite successful. Besides, the captain Sergio Ramos also scored a brace in yesterday’s game. However, Lucas Vazquez scored the first equalizer for Los Blancos in the 18th minute.

The Brazilian forward had his chance last night following the injuries of Gareth Bale and Marco Asensio. Solari put his faith in the youngster, although he had other options to go with. However, Isco remained on the bench that again strengthens his transfer speculation in the upcoming window. The club purchased Vinicius from Flamengo last year.

While talking about the Brazilian star, Santiago Solari said “He has had a great growth. He showed things before arriving here, later in Castilla and now he is showing them in the first team with continuity,” and then added “He has a lot to grow. He brings a lot of freshness and daring. He has the support of the mature players of the squad, who are always the basis of any serious sports project.”

He said “He is very young, but has a fantastic and surprising evolution. We have to take care of him and in that we are all there to help him, not only in the games but in daily life, in the dressing room and in training,” and further added “Vinicius and Benzema understand each other very well, they do it naturally and instinctively. Both connect and that is very nice.”

The Real Madrid coach said “Each game is a new battle. We will see what happens,” and then added “The important thing is to have Bale, Asensio and Vinicius hold their level, like Benzema.” He further said “Delivery, effort, heart, order and intensity, that’s what it’s worth and also that each one raises their level.”
