Ricky Saponara displayed his ’99 ways’ of celebration with his exposed back after scoring the 99th minute equalizer against Lazio

The 26-year old Sampdoria midfielder scored a 99th-minute equalizer for his team through a flicked volley that goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha failed to block. And, that brilliant goal secured the 2-2 draw for the away team at the Stadio Olimpico against Lazio. Moreover, Serie A also witnessed a ‘one of a kind’ celebration by Ricky Saponara.

Right after scoring that equalizer, the midfielder rushed to the away supporters in joy. The Sampdoria men then bombarded him their happiness and few of them pulled down his underwear. On the other hand, Photographers captured that moment which soon became viral on social media.

Two minutes after the added time, Sampdoria’s Bartosz Bereszynski faced his second yellow card and had to leave the ground with 1-1. Ciro Immobile, the striker of Lazio, then scored the second goal for the team in the 96th minute. And then, Ricky Saponara displayed his best and scored the leveler for the away team in the 99th minute.

Sampdoria is now standing at the 11th place of the Serie A table with 20 points in 15 matches this season. They already achieved 5 wins besides facing the loss on five occasions. On the other hand, Lazio is now holding the 5th place with 25 points in 15 matches. Lazio won 7 matches till now in Serie A this season.

Ricky Saponara later shared the picture on his Instagram profile with the caption ’99 ways of celebrating’. He then also thanked all his Sampdoria teammates and wrote “Thanks to all my team-mates who shared with me this crazy moment – especially that prankster Lorenzo Tonelli.”

While talking about the incident, he told DAZN “We played great in the first half but we didn’t do as well in the second half. We were a little lucky but we are very happy.” He also then explained, “I ran to the fans behind the goal and they tore all my clothes off!”
