Portugal took on Poland in an International Friendly away from home on Thursday, 11th October. Portugal went into the match without their ace, Cristiano Ronaldo. It was a tightly contested match with both teams taking quite a few shots at the goal.
It was Poland who scored first as Piatek guided a header towards the back of the net in the 18th minute. Portugal came back strong and got the equalizer in the 31st minute as Andre Silva scored a clever goal from inside the box.
Portugal continued to press hard and scored the second goal in the 43rd minute of the game. Rafa Silva, received a fantastic long ball and defeated the goal keeper. However, as he was about to take a strike, he was dispossesed by Kamil Glik only to guide the ball towards his own goal. It was counted as an own goal.

Second half saw Portugal increase their lead to 3 – 1 in the 52nd minute. This time it was Bernard Silva who scored from just outside the box. He defeated a couple of defenders and took a pretty good shot that the Polish goal keeper was not able to stop.
Poland got its second goal in the 77th minute of the game. Blaszczykowski scored a superb goal from just outside the box. He took a volley and the Portugal’s goalkeeper had no chance of stopping the ball. The match ended at 2 – 3 in favour of Portugal.
