Manchester City recently faced a tragic loss against their fellow English club Arsenal in the FA Cup semi-final. And, they faced it right after their two-year UEFA Champions League ban got over. Following the match, the City manager Pep Guardiola said that he has a lot of respect for the Gunner in the pitch but doesn’t have anything outside it.
His club faced the first defeat in their domestic cup in the last two-and-a-half years. And for that, Guardiola congratulated Arsenal for their win. However, he said that the first-half performance of the Gunners was not up to the mark. Besides, he also criticized about their own performance in the fast half.
Pep Guardiola says he doesn’t have much respect for fellow Premier League club Arsenal outside the pitch
While talking about their FA Cup semifinal performance against Arsenal, Manchester United manager Pep Guardiola said, “We didn’t play the first half against Arsenal like the second, that was the only regret. We wanted to play 90 minutes like the second half.” He added, “But, after we were beaten, we shake hands. The opponents always deserve my respect and credit. And Arsenal, I have all the respect for what they are on the pitch, not much off the pitch – but on the pitch, a lot. Congratulations to them and good luck in the final.”
He also talked about their offseason game against Real Madrid and said, “Against Madrid we know we have to do good games, all the cups are one game and we did a good performance but [against Arsenal] we were not good enough, that’s all. It can happen and you move forward, it’s forgotten.” He added, “The next time we play Arsenal next season we will see what we can do to play better and we are incredibly excited and incredibly optimistic about the game against Madrid for the players that we have.”

Manchester City coach said, “We know that If we play at a decent level – higher than we play against Arsenal – we’ll have our chance. If not, we’ll be out.” He then further added, “We’ll have two days [off] after Watford but after Watford, we’ll have two weeks of training sessions.”
He said, “We are going to make some changes for the last two games. I’ll try to let all of them play. I’m so excited about preparing for the Real Madrid game and for the next season.” The Manchester City coach then added, “When I lose this excitement and fire in me after victory and defeat, it will be a problem.”
