Pep Guardiola praised Jurgen Klopp as ‘an incredible manager’

Right on the verge of Liverpool’s highly-anticipated clash against their Premier League title rival Manchester City, the Citizen coach praised his Reds counterpart while calling him “an incredible manager”. Liverpool is in great form this year as they yet to taste any defeat in the Premier League this season.

The Reds are now standing 7 points clear of the reigning Premier League champions. The top two contenders will face each other at the Etihad Stadium tonight. If Manchester City defeats Liverpool it will be their first loss of this season. And if the Reds can maintain their winning saga, they will make a 10-point gap with the Citizens.

These two teams came face to face in the last October which ended as a goalless draw at Anfield. However, Liverpool won three of their last four meetings previous season against Pep Guardiola’s men. The Manchester City coach seems not affected by these statistics as he open-heartedly praised his Liverpool counterpart.

While talking about the ability of Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp, Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola said: “First of all, he’s an incredible manager.” He then talked about his relationship with the Liverpool coach while saying “I have a good relationship with him and his team always plays good.”

The Manchester City manager then said “I don’t count the number of times I beat managers and think I am special,” and then further added “Our teams play, I beat him, he beat me, I win cups and he won some. I congratulate him when he beats me and I move forward.”

While talking about the match, Guardiola said “[It is an] incredible pleasure. I’m a manager and to play these games, to see what we can do on the big stage with people in these stadiums, it’s a dream to play these games.” He then also added “It’s when I’m most calm. The players will try to do the performance they can do.”
