Pep Guardiola believes Manchester City is now struggling to focus on Premier League

Right after Liverpool grabbed their first-ever Premier League title in the last thirty years, Pep Guardiola believes that there is no more motivation left for his team Manchester City. However, City still has their quest for UEFA Champions League and FA Cup left in this season. But, their chance for the Premier League season has already ended.

Manchester City achieved a marvelous 2-0 victory against Newcastle United last night. Kevin De Bruyne scored the first goal for City in a first-half penalty on his 29th birthday. And shortly after, Raheem Sterling sealed the victory for Manchester City with a brilliant touch. They now have just one match left in the Premier League against Liverpool.

While talking about their current stand, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said, “After the defeat in London against Chelsea, of course now in the Premier League we’re struggling a little bit to focus,” and added, “We’re playing for qualification to the Champions League, it’s not done but we’re close, we need two victories.”

The Manchester City manager said, “But, of course, now the FA Cup and Champions League it’s a little bit different for the fact we’re playing at Wembley again, we were winners last season, we are in the semis again and that’s so, so good. Then we prepare for the end of the season against Madrid.”

He also expressed his views on the last night’s match against Newcastle and said, “First we are in the semi-final, it was not easy to attack against defenders so, so deep.” The manager then added, “It was a solid performance, we conceded few [chances] and we are happy to be going back to London to Wembley.”

De Bruyne, on the other hand, also expressed his views and said, “We had a few problems this year and I think the gaffer asked me to step up against Madrid.” The Belgian playmaker then added, “I’ve scored a couple now. If I’m the taker now I will try. Obviously there will be a day I miss, you have to take your responsibility, it if it’s in its good.”
