Messi Scores 2 As Barcelona Crush Tottenham Away From Home!

Wednesday night saw Barcelona take on Tottenham in a Champions League fixture, away from home. What promised to be a highly competitive match, turned out to be a superb win for Barcelona and a night to remember for Lionel Messi. The game started with Barcelona taking the lead in the 2nd minute of the game as Coutinho scored after Tottenham goalkeeper left the goal open. Messi was heavily involved in the goal as he provided a fantastic pass to start the move.

Rakitic scored a stunning volley in the 28th minute of the game giving Barcelona a 2 – nil lead. Messi continued to play well and take shots on goal. He came close to scoring in the 47th minute when he hit the goal post after a fantastic run.

Tottenham were not to remain silent and in their pursuit of a comeback, they found their first goal in the 52nd minute. Harry Kane scored a superb goal, curling the ball from inside the box with his right foot.

However, Tottenham had no answer to Barcelona’s fantastic passing. Barcelona made a superb move in the 56th minute which saw Lionel Messi convert from inside the box. It was Messi’s 1st and Barcelona’s 3rd goal of the match.

Tottenham once again came back strong and got their 2nd goal thanks to Lamela’s strike from outside the box. But it was an all Lionel Messi show on Wednesday night at Tottenham. Messi got another pass inside the box and he was not covered by any defender, which could mean only one thing, the 2nd goal for Lionel Messi.

With this win Barcelona are now at the top of the Group B with 6 points in 2 games. And Lionel Messi is at number 2 in Champions League top goal scorers list with 5 goals.
