MESSI MAKES QUICK COMEBACK: Return to Training

October 31, 2018 by Steven Smith

Barcelona Ace Lionel Messi fractured his arm in the Laliga match against opponents Sevilla FC by taking an awkward bump during open play. Doctors later diagnosed it as a broken arm and Messi was expected to be on the shelf for about 3 weeks or more. The Real Madrid match would have also had Barcelona ease their heads off in giving their star man a good rest. But Messi has defied all odds and made a stunning return in 10 days which was confirmed by the official Barcelona Twitter page a few days ago.

Messi is now back in training with the first-team, though he still has some mobility issues, and is thus unlikely to feature in the upcoming Copa del Rey clash with Cultural Leonesa.

Barcelona play Rayo Vallecano this weekend, before taking on Inter Milan in a Champions League tie that could determine the winner of Group B.

Messi has been in superb form throughout this season, scoring 12 goals in 12 games in all competitions, and providing six assists.

Luis Suarez is doing his best to fill the gap left by his esteemed colleague, and scored a superb hat-trick in the Clasico beating of Real.

“That’s the normal situation. Last season with Luis, the same thing happened,” Valverde said.
