Mauricio Pochettino believes Tottenham will soon be at the same level as Real Madrid

January 30, 2019 by Sourav Das

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino believes Tottenham will soon be on par with Spanish giants Real Madrid. Under his guidance, Tottenham already established themselves as one of the strongest contenders of the Premier League, although they are yet to taste any domestic league success since 2008.

Tottenham Hotspur already lost their places from the Carabao Cup and FA Cup last week. However, they still have their UEFA Champions League and Premier League chance for this season. Even after those recent setbacks, the Spurs manager strongly believes that his side is now heading towards the right direction.

While talking about the future of Tottenham Hotspur, Mauricio Pochettino said “Do I see a point where Tottenham are at the same level as Real? In the future — of course.” The manager then further added, “I believe Tottenham is going to have all the infrastructure to one day maybe be at the same level.”

He said, “It’s all about believing and building your history.” The Spurs manager then also added “It’s difficult, but that’s normal when you want to compete with these big sides. But I think Tottenham is going to have the infrastructure to one day be a club that can be a contender for every single title.”

The 46-year-old manager is recently linked with his move to Real Madrid. However, he never talked about his move from Tottenham. But when media asked about his own future at the club, the manager said: “I can’t promise that.” He then further added “Look, it depends on the mood of my chairman, depends on the decision of the company. It’s not only my decision to be here.”

The Spurs manager then explained “When I signed the contract a year ago, I signed for five years. I am here and respecting my contract, of course, but in football to sign a five-year contract doesn’t mean you’ll be here forever — like the players, like every employee of the club.”
