Javi Calleja Sacked from Villareal Coaching

Calleja, who happens to be a former midfielder for Villareal was selected to coach the club in September 2017. He led his club to a 5th place finish at the Europa League.

However this time around Calleja seems to have been struggling to get his point across to his team. Villareal has failed to performa and has only managed to grab one win in La Liga since September.

“Villarreal has decided to rescind Javi Callejas contract as first-team coach. The club would like to thank the coach for his work, dedication and professionalism since taking over last season,” Villareal Management.

His successor although is yet to be named. The new coach however will be appointed in the coming few hours according to club management.

Villareal stand at 17th rank currently in La Liga and have on;ly managed to win 3 matches out of the total 15 they have played this season.
