Hakan Calhanoglu believes his AC Milan teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic has no ego

June 1, 2020 by Sourav Das

Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic contributed his best at the AC Milan and doesn’t have any ego-related issues according to his teammate Hakan Calhanoglu. The 38-year-old player recently made his move to AC Milan in January this year and scored 4 goals in the last 10 games for the Rossoneri.

However, the Swedish star is now suffering a calf injury on the verge of Serie A’s return later this month. And, that injury truly made his future quite uncertain in the Italian league. On the other hand, Calhanoglu is spending a great time with Milan and already achieved both Serie A and Supercoppa in his first spell.

While talking about Zlatan Ibrahimovic, his AC Milan teammate Hakan Calhanoglu told beIN SPORTS, “He is not a new player for Milan. He is a world star and a very experienced player,” and then added, “He is our star. He has contributed to us in every respect – with his experience, game ambition, mentality, helping very well out on the field.”

Calhanoglu said, “Everyone on the outside sees ego. I think there is no ego, he is very approachable, very sympathetic, immediately joking, very enjoyable to spend time with him.” Another AC Milan star Leo Duarte also talked about Ibra in his latest interview with Sky Sport Italia. He said, “Ibra is a great champion, very competitive.”

He said, “He helps us a lot in training to stay focused and improve – it really makes a difference for our team.” The star then further added, “We hope he can recover soon because he is very important for us.” Ibrahimović also recently opened up about his current term with AC Milan, and said, “I have a contract with Milan and we will see how it ends there if it ends.”

He said, “I want to play football for as long as I can and be able to contribute something, not just play for what I have done or who I am.” The Swedish star then further added, “We’ll see what happens – who knew coronavirus would come and turn the world upside down in two weeks?”
