September 5, 2018 by Sabahat Waheed

When the final results of Ballon d’Or voting are announced Antoine Griezmann, 27, Atletico Madrid striker believes that he ought to be in top three as he deserve to be there.

When he picked up European Super Cup and Europea League winners medals, either side of winning the World Cup with France; he made it the most successful year for his career.

Antoine Griezmann deserves Ballon d’Or more than Modric, Salah and Ronaldo – Atletico’s Hernandez.

He scored 4 goals for his country during his triumph in Russia and at club level he scored 23 goals for Diego Simeone’s side but as per the Telegraph he was eventually left out from the shortlist for FIFA’s best men’s player award.

He now insists that his achievements should be come into notice and must be recognized in this year’s Ballon d’Or ceremony.

In an interview with French publication he said that: “I deserve to be in the top three.”

He said this because back in 2016 things were different, he continued: “That year, I lost two finals, this year I’ve won three, so normally…”

Further he gave his opinion for the FIFA awards snub, mentioning that there were no French player in the final shortlist, and saying: “It’s weird and a pity,”he added,“This is a trophy that’s awarded by FIFA, right? We won a World Cup and there’s no Frenchman on the shortlist. That’s the choice, but it’s surprising.”

Undoubtedly, Griezmann is an amazing player and he deserved to be in the final shortlist at least.

He wants his efforts for the year to be acclaimed as he scored 23 time for Atletico Madrid, and so they got to the European Super Cup and Europa League in the process.
