Ernesto Valverde is happy with the performance of Ousmane Dembele

Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde openheartedly praised the French youngster Ousmane Dembele after their 2-0 win against Villarreal last night. The coach now also thinks that Ousmane Dembele will display many great performances like this in future. Barcelona, with the victory last night, again claimed the top spot of La Liga table with 28 points in 14 games.

The media recently heavily criticized the French winger Ousmane Dembele for his alleged bad attitude in Spain. But this time, Barcelona’s greatest prospect just bamboozled the entire defenseline of Villarreal with his immense speed and skill. Besides, he also contributed his part in Barcelona’s 36th-minute opener.

Gerard Pique scored the opening goal for Barcelona in the 36th minute of the first half from a brilliant cross by Ousmane Dembele. Besides, Carles Alena also scored for Barcelona to seal their much-needed victory in La Liga. But, it is Dembele’s performance which coach Ernesto Valverde wanted to highlight after the match.

While talking about the French international, Ernesto Valverde said in the post-match press conference that “He was one of the most prominent players in the game,” and then said, “He did so many good things and we expect many good matches to come.”

He also praised the overall gameplay technique of Dembele while saying “What stands out was his speed, dribbling, shooting, and change of pace.” However, Valverde also thinks that Barcelona needs to learn to play a little better when they are out of possession, although he believes that they will soon recover from their entire crisis.

While talking about last night’s game, Valverde said “In the second half we lacked possession of the ball and we suffered,” and then added, “They became strong and we had to organize ourselves, so they would not become more dangerous.” He then also added, “We are not satisfied with what we have seen when we don’t have the ball.”
