The reports about the recent World Cup winner Paul Pogba would be one the move this summer as various teams within EPL and all across were keen to snap up him through the ongoing transfer window. But now with things getting clearer, it seems that Pogba is going nowhere from Old Trafford, no matter how much Catalan side is ready to pay up for him. Some reliable sources also hinted that Italian Giant Juventus were also eyeing to get Pogba in their clan but the one who was ultimately after this French guy was Barcelona. Up the latest, Barca has even made a hefty offer for him but that went in vain.
As per the reliable sources, the agent of Pogba, Mino Raiola met him and also tried to get him on the board for Barcelona. The super-agent came up with a £100million offer for Manchester United’ Pogba but it just got a turned down as Mourinho seems in the mood to let the French artillery go away from him.
Moreover, a meeting between Pogba and his former France team-mate Eric Abidal in Los Angeles also seemed to be one of the parts to get the mid-fielder ready to join Barcelona. It should be noted here that Abidal is currently serving as technical secretary at Barcelona.
Several busts-up between Pogba and Mourinho seemed a loophole for the willing sides to grab him to them. But now it seems Mourinho will be keeping Pogba under his wings and won’t allow him a go.
Not to forget, Mourinho was all praises for Pogba winning the World Cup. “I hope that he understands why he was very good,” Mourinho said. “I think that’s the point about his performance level, his contribution to a winning team, for him to understand why he was so good, especially in the second part of the competition, the quarter-final, semi-final and final where in my opinion he was absolutely brilliant.”
