Antonio Cassano believes Paulo Dybala can’t handle pressure in the Juventus squad

January 7, 2021 by Sourav Das

Argentine star Paulo Dybala is currently having a contract with the Serie A club Juventus till 2020. However, he imposed several new clauses to sign a new contract extension with the sign. On the other hand, Juventus is yet to agree with those clauses. And these tussles between the club and the player sparked a new rumor of the transfer of the argentine to a new club in the very next season.

Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo stated last month that the club will stay beside the Argentine. He also addressed that champions like Dybala are always fundamental for any strong team like Juventus. However, former Italian legend Antonio Cassano has a very different thing on his mind. He strongly believes that Dybala is not worth the money he is demanding as he can’t handle the pressure.

While talking about the argentine, Antonio Cassano told Twitch, “All his coaches at Juventus did not consider him necessary, so I wonder if he is a champion or a great player.” He then also added, “For me, he is not a champion, he does not make the difference. He has [scored] good goals like I saw [Antonio] Di Natale and [Lorenzo] Insigne do. But if you want to take Juventus’ No.10 [shirt], you have to be at a higher level.”

Cassano talked about the current performance level of Dybala and said, “I have the feeling that when they put pressure on him, he sh*ts himself! And then he asks for €10m per season? Oh, please!” However, Pirlo has some other things on his mind as he said, “He worked very well during the week in training, we could tell during the match that he was in the better physical condition and we kept him on to the end because we hoped he would score that goal.”

The Juventus coach said, “Champions like him are always fundamental in strong teams.” The Italian coach added, “I train all the players. Dybala is one of them. His behavior is great.” Pirlo further said, “Unfortunately, he’s got this little injury, and yesterday he tried to force it, but he was worried he would hurt himself even more. We hope to have him back on Tuesday.”

Paulo Dybala himself also talked about his transfer speculation and said, “So many things that aren’t true have been said in relation to my contract.” He added, “My agent was in Turin for a long time and was never called up by the club. It disappoints me to hear talk of invested financial figures.” Dybala added, “It would be better if the truth could be told, because talking about those aspects in this period pits the fans against me, with all the love I have for Juventus.”
