Alisson Becker believes Liverpool have to win every matches to be the Premier League champions

February 6, 2019 by Sourav Das

The Reds are now intensely chased by Manchester City, and their goalkeeper Alisson Becker believes Liverpool have to win everything to finish this season at the top of the Premier League table. They recently faced an unexpected 1-1 draw against West Ham United this Monday where Michail Antonio equalized Sadio Mane’s score.

Jurgen Klopp expressed his disagreement with the referring decisions at their clash with West Ham. Football Association, on the other hand, asked the Reds manager to explain his comments. But amid all this, the Liverpool goalkeeper insists that his team should not lose their focus and deliver their best for the rest of this season.

It ends all square at the London Stadium.

While talking about the performance of his squad, Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker said “We have to be prepared to fight everything. All the adverse circumstances that come our way.” He said “I believe our team is on the right track. Now we do not have much room for hesitation. If we want to be champions, we have to win everything from now on.”

He said “I believe we had glimpses into the game. Some moments of insecurity,” and then further added “We started ahead. [But] from the moment we started to miss some passes – some silly passes that we are not used to missing – I think the team lost a little confidence in the match. I think the opposing team also gained confidence.”

The goalkeeper said “We have confidence. We enjoyed a brilliant December, which was almost perfect, but now we have had this dip,” and then added “It is difficult to explain why this has happened. I believe that now teams who play against us sit very deep. We need to do things a little differently and maybe we aren’t doing this – we are unable to find the spaces.”

Alisson said “Often, we want to go through the middle and it is difficult against physically strong and defensive teams. We need to find solutions and in these past few games we haven’t.” He then further added “We want to play better every day and unfortunately it is not happening. We know our quality and we know that we can give more. If we do it, with our quality, we will continue at the top.”
