Results of bad design are in front of you. Let’s move toward “good design”. One must stick to some rules if he want his design to be the good or better than others.
There are 10 fundamental principles of good design. These are known as 10 commandments. One must have to follow these basic principles to make his design the good one as told by famous German designer Dieter Rams.

Vitsoe worked for many years along with Dieter. They both revised the 10 principles with some addition. These additions are as follow:
Innovation and creativeness must be a part of design. Innovative mind can create simple design into something marvelous and wonderful.
Usefulness is the basic function for which the product is created. It should be designed in a way that its usefulness is maintained.

It must be understandable which make one understand the structure and dimensions of design.
The purposefulness of design must be depicted by the design itself. It must describe the purpose of the design itself.
It should be neither more creative nor more dumb. The design must be a neutral one which explains the honesty of its purpose.

Good design is the one which depicts every single detail about it. It must be thorough and consistent.
Design is good when it is environment friendly. It should be generalize-able. Across culture or country, in any environment it should be of same importance.
Brief, little and contracted form of design is the quality of good design. It must be summarized and less.
