Shoulder Injury May Rule Muhammad Abbas Out of Decisive 3rd Test

November 29, 2018 by Sarmad Masood

Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Abbas may unfortunately be ruled out of the 3rd and Final Test of the series  against New Zealand with a shoulder injury. 28 year old Abbas got his right shoulder injured while diving in the field during Pakistan’s 2nd Test bout against New Zealand
According to PCB officials Abbas has been experiencing intermittent pain in his right shoulder(also his bowling shoulder) and has been taken for scans on Thursday, November 29. The final decision regarding his inclusion will be taken after the final results.

Abbas’ absence might be felt by Pakistan Xi in the 3rd Test at Abu Dhabi. Abbas is a rising bowler who seems to have mastered the art of moving the ball in any direction he wishes. He recently became the first bowler in 12 years to pick up 10 wickets in a test match.

On a brighter not ,his absence may translate into Shaheen Shah Afridi’s Test debut. The newbie left-arm pacer is part of the retained 15-member squad, which was initially jotted down for the first two Tests, for the series decider. Afridi snatched the man of the series award in the three match ODI series between Pak and NZ last month.

Another pace option that the Pakistan XI might consider is Mir Hamza. 26-year-old Mir Hamza made his Pakistan debut last month in the second Test against Australia. He could only manage to pick up one wicket – of Shaun Marsh though.Mir Hamza has earned the respect of many because of his disciplined bowling.
