Virat Kohli is regarded as one the finest batsmen of modern-day cricket and you can’t argue about that; he proved it yet again against England in the first ongoing Test match.  All the eyes were zoomed in to see what captain Kohli would have to offer in this England tour as his past performances in the English conditions were there to haunt him as well.  King Kohli stood tall right at the time when his team needed him most, and like most frequently he did what he is actually known for, smashing runs under pressure.

At one stage India were 100 for 5 in response to England’s 287 in the 1st innings, but at the time of writing Kohli marched India towards the right direction with making it 268 for the loss the of 9 wickets. The Indian captain was firm on 143  at the time of writing, and the way he had been going India might be looking to add some runs in the lead as well. At the same time, India’s batting fiasco apart from Kohli’s magical performance will be the talk of the town as none of the batsmen could score even 30 runs except the Indian skipper.

Sam Curran of England, who is just playing second Test match of his life, outsmarted the strong Indian batting lineup with claiming 4-wickets (at the time of writing). On the other hand,  England winning the toss opted to bat first and managed to score 287 runs.
