Cricket Fans Not Happy with Gautam Gambhirs Criticism of MS Dhoni

December 11, 2018 by Sarmad Masood

Recently retired Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir received a lot of twitter heat from Cricket Fans after he criticized MS Dhoni’s selection strategy against Australia in the 2012 CB Series.

Dhoni fans sprung into action and started expressing their dismay with Gambhir’s criticism on social media platform Twitter. Gambhir had gone on to criticize the former Indian Captain’s selection strategy due to which Gautam Gambhir was not included into the team.

Gautam Gambhir has stayed vital for the Indian squad in the 2007 and 2011 World Cup Campaigns. He said that Dhoni’s selection strategy hit Gambhir as a shock as he was told by Dhoni that Sehwag and Tendulkar can’t play together. Gambhir has always been a believer of the fact that age is just a number as long as one keeps putting runs on the board and keeps performing consistently.

“In the 2012 Tri-series in Australia, Dhoni declared that he can’t play all three (Gambhir, Sachin and Sehwag) of us together as he was looking ahead at the 2015 World Cup. It was a massive shock, I think it would have been a massive shock for any cricketer. I have not heard anyone be told in 2012 that they would never be a part of the 2015 World Cup. I always had the impression that if you keep scoring runs, age is a just a number,” Gambhir told India Today.

“First you decided that you won’t play the three of us together, then you decided that you are going to play the three of us together. Either the original decision was wrong, or the second decision was wrong. He took that decision as a captain and it was a shock to all three of us,” He added.

Gautam Gambhir had a fantastic farewell to his star studded career. He scored a beautiful century in his last match which was played between Delhi and Andhra in the 2018/19 Ranji Trophy at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium.
Here is what Cricket Fans Said about Gambhirs Statements:

#gambhir #Dhoni whatever is going in not good for Indian cricket.Though @GautamGambhir is great cricketer but needs to learn behave gently and maturity from various retired cricketers like #sehwag #SachinTendulkar . After 8 years and retirement it’s not sounding well being.

Gautam Gambhir has once again proven his sickly attitude by badmouthing MS Dhoni. Navjot Siddhu refused to say a word about what happened in the dressing room after he retired midway through the series in England. Which scenario sees the righteousness upheld? Well.

Gautam Gambhir claims to be an ‘honest’ man but he chose to criticize MS Dhoni, selectors etc after his retirement. So, he certainly wasn’t honest to them all these years
