Lamborghini is not going to participate in the Paris Motor Show this year

May 28, 2018 by Rana Hamza

This is not the first time Lamborghini is going to skip the motor show in Paris. Besides the brand’s absence for the second time, many other major automobile companies will also skip the show such as Ford, Nissan, Volvo, Volkswagen, Mitsubishi, Opel, Mazda, Subaru, and Infiniti. Lamborghini will not have any presence directly from the company itself this year, although the local Lamborghini dealership will have their small kiosk in the show.

Lamborghini has several causes to avoid the motor show this year as they don’t have any plan to reveal any new car or concept around October this year. Besides, the cost of attending global motor show spread across the world has also gone up like never before. These days, brands can promote their cars in several ways without attending any major motor show. Moreover, France is not a great market for any non-French car manufacturers.

Sister concerns of Lamborghini, such as Audi, Porsche, Skoda, and the SEAT will have their prominence in the Paris motor show. However, it is now expected that the show itself will be dominated by the French manufactures this time such as Peugeot, Renault, and Citroen. Recently, Lamborghini also lost a huge chunk of money for the Volkswagen Group’s involvement in the “dieselgate” scandal.

Last year, Lamborghini revealed its first SUV, Urus, for the customers, followed by the launch of Terzo Millennio electric concept in January. They then revealed their new Huracan Performante Spyder in March. Besides, Lamborghini’s Polo Storico vintage car division is now also very busy as they recently celebrated their 50-year anniversary of the launch of the Islero and Espada in March this year. Moreover, they are now restoring the Marzal which dominated the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique circuit.
