Toby, a sweet orange and white cat, only wanted to be with the family he has been living. But the cruel family didn’t want to keep him. The family gave Toby away when they no longer wanted him. Toby missed his family a lot. He walked the 12 miles back to his home, but this was not a surprise for that family. They took Toby to a local shelter and asked to have him euthanized. When the staff asked the reason, the family said because they simply no longer wanted him. This was very heart breaking for the poor cat who was emotionally attached with his family.
The shelter called the staff at the SPCA of Wake County, asking if they would take Toby, and help find him a new home. SPCA of Wake County posted, “Of course we said YES!” The sweet and cuddly cat was instantly made famous when his heart-touching story was shared. The shelter posted on Facebook, “Toby is safe here at the SPCA Pet Adoption Center waiting to find his forever home. He would prefer to be the only cat in his home. We hope his story inspired you to take a stand for animals in need.”
Toby was the star for the shelter’s 2018 Dog Walk and Woofstock. They used his story and came up with the line: ‘If he is willing to walk 12 miles to save his life, will you walk ONE to save thousands of animals like Toby?’
It did not take long before the perfect family came to adopt Toby. His new family is giving him the love he deserves. Toby deserves a good home and he finds at the end. We should help shelter animals and rescue the poor pets which are homeless.
